Jared Bruni's Online Profile

Who I am looking for

Female from age 21 to 40 who lives in California.

My self-summary

Computer programmer / Software engineer by day, a lover of life, horror films and classic rock by night. I spend a lot of time reading and programming but I would like to spend more time with someone who I can have a good time with. I like to play videos games, go to the beach, go for walks, meditate, and learn new things. I am easy to get along with and try not to let stuff bother me. I am kind of shy until I get to know you. If I had to describe what life was about in one line of code this would be it.

love=get(give());

What I'm doing with my life

Working on free open source projects to put on my website. I don't do it for money I do it because its what I love to do and it is my passion. I am financially self sufficient. I live alone and am alone most of the time and would really love to spend some time with someone. I have a good sense of humor and do not take myself too seriously.

I'm really good at

Working with computers, writing code and being creative. I love coming up with new algorithms to generate graphics. I write my own custom filters for images and special effects for videos. I am also very good at meditation and visualization.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books:

The C++ Programming Language 4th Edition, The Design and Evolution of C++. My favorite author is Bjarne Stroustrup. I collect programming books my favorite publisher is Addison-Wesley (they have all the best books).

Movie:

The original A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Basket Case, Hatchet, Scream etc.

Show:

Freddy's Nightmares was a TV show that played from 1988-1990. It was so bad its funny.

Music:

I really like listening to music and some of my favorites are Pink Floyd, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Peter Paul and Mary, the Beatles, TOOL, A Perfect Circle, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Fleetwood Mac to name a few. I collect vinyl records and started after I inherited a big box full of LPs.

Food: American, Chinese, And Italian

The six things I could never do without

1. Music
2. Computers
3. My cat
4. Books
5. Family
6. Compilers

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Software engineering and how I can contribute by writing free software and releasing the code. I love helping other people so I run a source code database that anyone can access to learn how software works. I pay for this out of my pocket and don't ask for donations or put ads on my site. I have also had my apps published on many websites around the internet. Recently some of my artwork was published online. I mostly write graphics applications and homebrew video games for systems like Xbox, PSP, PS3, iOS, Android, Mac OS X, Windows, Linux. I am fluent in many programming languages but my favorite by far is C++. You could say I am a C++ master. I taught myself everything I know by reading a lot of books and trial and error experiences coding. I also like collecting stuff. I collect books, vinyl records, Blu-ray and DVDs. I also love playing video games. I practice meditation and visualization and love listening to guided meditation. You could say meditation is like programming for your brain.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home alone watching movies on my 4K HDTV and 7.1 digital surround home theater setup. I love Blu-ray and high definition digital audio. DTS-HD Master Audio is my favorite audio codec. My favorite video codec is x264.

You should message me if

If you want a kind honest man who has a lot of love to give and would like to have some fun going places and spending time with me. If you can look past that I do not have a car or drive.

UPDATE @ Mon Jun 15 15:35:52 PDT 2015
Spent a long time trying to figure out why OpenCV would not compile on Yosemite. Figured it out and statically linked Acid Cam VR 1.1 with the libraries so you no longer need the MacPorts version of OpenCV installed to /opt/local for it work. It should work as long as you have the Oculus Runtime.

UPDATE @ Sat Jun 6 16:11:40 PDT 2015
Added Acid Cam VR for Oculus Rift DK2 to the site with a version for Windows and MacOS X.

UPDATE @ Sun May 17 14:39:14 PDT 2015
It seems the first version of Acid Cam (1.7.7) is incompatible with MacOS X Yosemite for some reason. So if you using Yosemite just pick up version 2 of the program.

UPDATE @ Tue May 12 14:48:53 PDT 2015
Bad news, seems apple deprecated and now dropped support for one of the libraries that SDL 1.2 that I used to compile the majority of the games on this site. So that means I have to recompile and repackage the majority of these programs to get them to work on Yosemite. So the last version supported was 10.9.
